Reel Knights Bass Team
The Reel Knights Bass Team is a group of tournament bass anglers at the University of Central Florida. Our goal is to be the best tournament bass team in the country while promoting our sponsors and being positive role models in our community.
The RK Bass Team has been tournament fishing since the fall of 2008 and has made great strides in its short existence. We are an ever growing team that is looking to fish as many tournaments as possible each and every year. We plan on fishing tournaments across the country and are really excited about the new Florida Collegiate Bass Series that will be starting its inaugural season in 2010. Other tournament trails include the FLW College, College Bass, and the Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship.
Our team consists of anglers of varying skill and experience. Our anglers fish everything from college events, to local club tournaments and even FLW events and BASS events as boaters and co-anglers.
Over the past couple years we have developed relationships with companies in our community and in the fishing community. The reason for this is to draw support for our team and to create relationships that will better our members, the companies that we work with and the community that we live in. East Lake Fish Camp, home of the Reel Knights, was the first to join forces with the Reel Knights. We look forward to hosting tournaments at their camp and using the Z-6 Nitro Bass Boat that they bought to help us fish tournaments that require boats. In addition, we have joined forces with Deep South Fishing Rods, Gambler Baits, Secret Lures, JJ’s Magic and Tacklewarehouse.com. Every company that we work with believes in our team and we believe in their product. We never look for hand outs and are never afraid to go the extra mile to help those who help us!
Additionally, our team has an asset that many other teams and clubs do not have: a coach. After fishing for the Reel Knights, Patrick Mangold decided to come back to the club to offer support and guidance. Patrick is also one of the two people who started the Florida Collegiate Bass Series this year. To read an article about Patrick’s return to the Reel Knights click here.
